What is a PRCC Fellow?

The PRCC was seeking some help with all of their activities over the summer and decided to look for someone to participate and gain experience through a Community Fellowship Program.

I'm so excited to be working with this group. My goals as a PRCC Fellow are to help the PRCC identify people in the area who want to want to join our membership and who support the PRCC goals of honoring the past, enjoying the present and preserving the future of our river.

As part of the program, I have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of activities that will provide me with valuable experience. For example, I get to work with PRCC advisors and volunteers to develop and execute strategy for accomplishing PRCC goals.

One of the best parts of the job? Increasing awareness of the PRCC through community

outreach. A fancy way of saying - I get to be out, meeting people and talking about the PRCC and the Penobscot River at a bunch of fun events this summer.

I had the chance to help at the Friends of Fort Knox clean up day last month.

Most importantly, I hope that I can help, through the PRCC, to bring attention to the individual stories and priorities of those of you who live, work and play along the Penobscot River. Together, we can identify opportunities for continued progress, and work together to promote the heritage, improve the quality, highlight the beauty, and advance recreational opportunities and balanced development of the

Penobscot River.

I'm extremely happy to be part of a group, like the PRCC, that works to raise the voices of everyone, especially those who are otherwise unrepresented by large interest groups, to ensure that people who actually live along the banks of the river or make their living from its waters will have a say in any decisions being made about the river’s future.
